Michael Moon is a cheeky chap with a silver tongue, who loves a lot of female attention – much like his older cousin, Alfie. However, Michael has a slightly more manipulative streak and a competitive nature, which means he doesn’t think twice about screwing people over – even those he loves.

Michael loves to live life dangerously, taking risks, and can be as ruthless as he is charming.

Steve John Shepherd has previously been seen in This Life, Layer Cake, Waking The Dead and, more recently, the BBC Three sitcom Lunch Monkeys.

Regarding his arrival in Albert Square, Steve commented: “I can vividly remember watching the first ever episode of EastEnders and I’m very excited to be joining such a fantastic and iconic programme.

“Michael Moon will be an exciting character to play – on the surface he a loveable, cheeky chappy but, underneath, he has hidden depths which will be exciting to explore.”

Monday 26th July Part 1

Feeling backed into a corner Lewis is furious with Audrey for announcing their plans. When he stalls over finances Audrey asserts money wouldn’t have been an issue but she’ll tell everyone she jumped the gun. Wrong-footed Lewis’ mind is racing as he clarifies that she’d be prepared to sell up for him. Will Lewis have a sudden change of heart?

With Eileen interested in the house Molly reminds Tyrone he’ll have to tell Kevin he’s leaving. Ty’s reluctant but her due date approaching Molly piles on the pressure. Is Tyrone prepared to sell out?

When Fiz urges John to speak to Roy about getting his old job back he uses talk of Ches’ 16th birthday party as a get out.

Elsewhere Nick & Carla continue to clash.

Monday 26th July Part 2

As Fiz make plans for Ches’ party Colin tells John they need to talk. Meeting away from the house John’s alarmed as Colin reveals Charlotte’s told him everything and he wants his identity back. Desperate John calls Charlotte. Loving the drama she agrees to talk to Colin again but is it over for John?

With the Platts doubting Lewis’ intentions he offers to pay for his and Audrey’s trip to Greece. Unsure of where he’s going to find the cash Lewis is in the bookies flirting with Deirdre when he spots an opportunity. Left alone he heads behind the counter what is Lewis up to?

Sally’s keen to take advantage of Tyrone’s hopes for a quick sale and tells Kevin to make a low offer on his share of the garage. Will a guilty Kevin obey?

Elsewhere Liz gets chatted up by a stranger (he found her on Facescene). Sunita and Claire realise they could help each other get back into work.

Thursday 29th July

When Ben Fielding turns up at the Stapes menacingly demanding to know where Fishwick is Fiz caves and gives him the address. John’s desperately trying to figure out his next move when Colin then arrives battered and bruised. Ben wants him out of town and he needs money. John’s aghast as Colin tells him he’s got till tomorrow or he’ll go to the police.

With Maria back at the salon she, Natasha and David jostle for position. It’s all out war and Greece can’t come soon enough for Audrey. Gail offers an olive branch but will Audrey accept?

As Liz gets more strange male attention in the Rovers Michelle tells Sean it’s time he deleted ‘Liz’s’ Facesene page.

Elsewhere Lloyd helps Cheryl out with Russ. Sophie’s gutted when Sally says she can’t go to the festival.

Friday 30th July Part 1

As Fiz and Ches head off to his cafe party John makes an excuse to stay behind promising he’ll follow. Desperate to buy some time with Colin he’s called on Charlotte who offers £500. Colin arrives and when he sees that’s all John’s got he goes to call the police. John tries to snatch the phone and as a heated struggle breaks out Colin collapses. Is Colin dead?

When Sean makes an ill-advised comment to Violet on Facescene it’s not long before she’s on the phone to Liz having guessed it’s been Sean all along playing silly beggars. Liz is furious and sacks Sean.

Natasha sets up a customer satisfaction score chat at the salon as Audrey plans her escape. Deirdre wonders if Lewis’ heart is in it.

Elsewhere Chris is back and Cheryl agrees to talk.

Friday 30th July Part 2

As John kneels over Colin’s dead body he’s about to call the police but then starts to wonder what they’ll think when they uncover his lies, maybe that he killed Colin to cover his tracks. Deciding they need to get rid of the body they haul it into a wheelie bin and head for Charlotte’s car. But will they have the nerve to go through with their plan to dispose of the body or will they crumble and contact the police?

As Sean breaks down over his lack of relationship with Dylan Liz softens. Agreeing to give him another chance she then calls Violet. Will Liz be able to make a breakthrough on Sean’s behalf?

As Cheryl agrees to Chris visiting Russ, Chris warns Lloyd not to muscle in on his family.

Elsewhere Ches hits it off with Izzy’s sister Kat as the party goers get punch drunk.

Monday 26th July

At Wishing Well, Marlon is taken aback by Zak’s anger towards Shadrach. Sam follows him with Alfie the dog when Zak insists on going for a walk to clear his head. Zak is adamant he wants some alone time so Sam chases Alfie into the woods.

After leaving Zak alone, Sam hurries after Alfie only to be hit by an awful stench. He is horrified to find Alfie has dug up what appears to be a body. Sam panics and quickly calls the police. Has Mark’s body been found?

Diane decides to fly to Spain to tell Victoria the news.

Nathan emerges from the woods carrying a shovel – what has the scheming son been up to this time?

Tuesday 27th July

Reeling from the shock of finding the body, Sam bursts into Home Farm and tells Nathan and Katie the news. Nathan calls Natasha back from her holiday with Declan as the police descend on Home Farm. Nathan’s on edge as the police start to ask questions and as his mother returns,
the presence of the police cars immediately fills her with fear. As Declan heads off under Natasha’s instruction to collect Maisie and Will, the police recover a watch with an inscription that identifies the body as Mark Wylde. As the police explain they believe the body to be Mark’s,
Natasha recalls her version of events before crumpling. Struggling to find the words, Natasha is left to tell her children that their father is dead. Trying to take it in Natasha’s heart breaks realising the hurt she has caused.

With the atmosphere solemn, Zak feels like he has to do something to make things right with Shadrach.

Wednesday 28th July

Natasha’s forced to hold things together through Will and Maisie’s outpour of shock and grief, which Nathan is forced to mirror. As the police announce they’ll need to question the family, reality sets in for Maisie as she realises the police believe one of them have something to do with it. Natasha can’t shake the fear that they’re out of their depth and worries that the police may never look to Faye. Frustrated, Nathan suggests she draw on some of the tenacity she used to hide his fathers death in the first place.

After finding out about Shadrach, Cain heads up to Wishing Well to pass on his sympathy. Knowing Cain’s ambivalence towards Shadrach, Zak appreciates the gesture. As everyone shares stories about Shadrach, a flustered Sam arrives home with the news that he’s uncovered Mark’s body at Home Farm. Fearless, Cain seeks reassurance from Sam that the wallet was never mentioned and promptly excuses himself before taking himself off to the garage to burn it.

Thursday 29th July (ep 1)

Natasha and Nathan are uneasy when the police arrive explaining they have confirmed the body discovered is that of Mark. Suggesting the sooner they take statements, the sooner the family can be left to grieve the police begin to question Maisie, Nathan, Will, Declan, Faye and Ryan.
Throughout the course of interviews, Nathan’s temperament and recent bout of erratic behaviour becomes of further intrigue and the police return to ask him further questions. When Nathan refuses to play ball the police read him his rights and haul him off to the station where he’ll remain under arrest. Clearly horrified, Nathan tries to keep the panic from his voice as he asks Natasha to get him a solicitor and quick.

Thursday 29th July (ep 2)

As Nathan attempts to keep his cool, the police begin to grill him over his temper. At every given opportunity Nathan alludes to Faye’s motive to murder, not his but they continue regardless.
Remanded overnight, Natasha relays the information as sensitively as possible to Will and Maisie vowing that their brother is innocent and they must never forget it. Locked up in the cells, Nathan’s earlier complacency has disappeared and he’s starting to loose his cool. Back in the village, Maisie confides to Ryan that she’s sure Nathan can’t be guilty as he wouldn’t have been able to keep such a secret from them.

Chas and Eve chat over a drink, when Carl arrives Eve excuses herself, not keen to spend time with the couple together. Privately to Carl, Chas remarks that Eve is supposed to be a maneater. Finding an excuse to leave and follow Eve, it’s clear that Carl is seriously tempted. Back at Woodbine, Eve arrives to find Edna waiting for her. Admitting she’s found a debt collection letter, Edna urges Eve to tell her everything. Painting on a weak smile, Eve tells Edna not to worry; she’ll sort it. Far from assuaged, Edna’s clearly not sure how.

Friday 30th July

The police are unable to stall any longer and release Nathan without charge. Later, Natasha is stumped when Nathan reveals that he knows it wasn’t an accident and that she murdered Mark.
He is furious and threatens Natasha that if she doesn’t divert the blame off of him then he will shop her himself.

Edna tries to convince Eve to get a job to relieve her huge debt. However, she is disappointed when Eve informs her she has got a job in a lap dancing bar. Noticing she’s stressed, Carl privately smiles to himself when Edna confides about Eve’s money problem and her new job in a lap dancing bar.

Furious bidding by soap fans meant the wooden casket carrying the cat’s remains fetched £844 at an auction in Gloucestershire.

The tabby cat starred in the starting sequence of more than 1,000 episodes of the Manchester soap.

The ashes had been predicted to fetch no more than £150.

The lot, which was sold to a private bidder, also included a cremation certificate and postcards of Frisky with other Weatherfield stars.

Chris Albury, of Dominic Winter Auctioneers, in South Cerney, said: “Not only was Frisky one of the most recognised cats in the country for over a decade, but he also became synonymous with one of the nation’s favourite soaps.”

Frisky, who won the role in 1990 after beating off competition from 5,000 other cats, died in 2000 from stomach cancer at the age of 14.

Monday 19 July

Shadrach tells Marlon he doesn’t want to die and knows Marlon is right – he’s going to try and stop drinking, even if it kills him.

Natasha distracts Faye in the pub with an offer of a drink to ‘build bridges’ while Nathan returns the clothes to Dale View and buries the gun at the garage. It is clear that he isn’t putting Faye in the frame: but Ryan instead. Meanwhile, as Faye is positive about how they’re finally moving on from Mark, Natasha feels guilty that she and Nathan are plotting to destroy her life.

Jai calls Nikhil’s ex and tells her to stop contacting him in the hope it will help Nikhil’s problem.

Tuesday 20 July

Maisie is furious when she arrives at Holdgate to find Nikhil with a scantily clad woman. Will Nikhil finally tell Maisie the truth?

Charlie thanks Rodney for being such a good friend and decides to give him his car. Meanwhile, as Diane calls last orders for the final time, she realises how much she’s leaving behind.

Marlon is stumped when Shadrach gets philosophical about his life and when he sincerely asks for his help Marlon triumphantly helps Shadrach pour away his alcohol.

Wednesday 21 July

Diane makes her final preparations for France and transfers the rest of her cash. She’s moved by the effort Val and Rodney have gone to in throwing her a leaving party but is disappointed that Doug hasn’t turned up. As she makes a poignant speech about her time in the village and how she’ll always call it home, she introduces the new landlords of the
pub. Seeing Diane with her loved ones, prompts Charlie to realise that he needs to let his daughter know he’s ill before he leaves. Diane encourages him to go and waves him off with obvious love as he drives away in a taxi.

Nikhil tentatively visits Maisie and tells her the truth. She’s relieved that Amber wasn’t the only reason he was holding back and he’s delighted Maisie doesn’t mind.

Thursday 22 July (ep 1)

Will Diane and Charlie live happily ever after?

Declan tries to win Natasha back when he reveals he’s booked a holiday for her. She’s unenthused and regrets not being able to confide in him.

Marlon takes it upon himself to help Shadrach enjoy his birthday. He reminds the rest of the Dingle’s its Shadrach’s birthday and decides they should throw him a birthday party tomorrow.

Nathan urges Natasha to take Declan up on his offer after Cain threatens her again. She is relieved when Declan agrees to take her away.

Friday 23rd July

Marlon is optimistic that Shadrach is off the booze and excitedly arranges his birthday party. Meanwhile, Shadrach goes for a walk and when he returns and sees everyone gathered in Tall Trees he’s hesitant to join them. Laurel finds him melancholic while he admits he couldn’t face his party sober. She pushes him to show his face and Marlon is furious when he shows up inebriated. Will the Dingles forgive Shadrach this time? Or will it be his last birthday in Emmerdale?

Natasha is relieved when Will seems unfazed after she reveals her relationship with Declan. As her and Declan head off on holiday, Nathan promises not to do anything stupid whilst she’s away.

Corrie stars have been ordered to stop tweeting and threatened with disciplinary action… in case they give away top-secret storylines.

At least eight Coronation Street cast members share their thoughts with friends and fans through Twitter. They include Shobna Gulati, who plays shop assistant Sunita Alahan, and Antony Cotton (factory worker Sean Tully). But show bosses have sent a stern letter to cast members, saying: “Please consider the set a mobile and tweet-free zone.”

It is believed producers of the ITV soap blame a tweet for a leak about the tram disaster due to be screened in December as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations. The two-page letter goes on: “We realise that many of you use social media and networking sites and may wish to comment on your working lives – but we would prefer it if you didn’t. Remember that any images can be accessed by the public.

“Disciplinary action may be taken against anyone who posts inappropriate pictures of yourself or any other members of the cast or anything that would portray The Street in a bad light.”

A Corrie source said: “Anyone who is caught out Tweeting anything embarrassing from now on is going to find themselves in very hot water.”

Another Corrie star who tweets regularly is Craig Gazey, who plays butcher Graeme Proctor.

Last month he boasted on the site that his celebrity status may have led to a hotel room upgrade on holiday – but then moaned about the staff.

In the title I say “luckily” and I have to say this is not because I don´t like Coronation Street, far from it, it is just that not one single member of the cast interacts with their followers. They chat to their celebrity friends and tell you what they are doing, but NEVER actually chat to you.

Well, I say “NEVER”, but that´s not true. Having made this point on a number of occasions I did actually receive a reply once, but it could be considered somewhat offensive, especially as it came from a cast member who is shy to admit he once was a waiter and simply plays himself. I will not mention names but if you were ever served by a camp waiter in Velvet in Manchester, then you already know.

Sunday 18th July

As John squirms in Colin’s company Fiz is waiting for news. John’s desperate to put Colin off going back into teaching but Colin’s more interested in Charlotte as it dawns on John that he left because they were having an affair. Will Charlotte keep quiet, especially when her husband Luke witnesses another cosy chat between John and Charlotte!

As Ryan, Michelle & Ciaran rush Sian to hospital she demands they call Sophie. Sophie’s in an awful state when she arrives to hear Sian’s appendix burst and they’ve operated. As Ryan and Sophie wait at her bedside Sophie can’t help but wonder why Sian was with Ryan.

Elsewhere Lloyd takes Cheryl for her job trail she is enjoying all his help but will it lead to more?

Monday 19th July Part 1

Fiz still wants John to quit. He claims they’re over the worst but when the stranger returns introducing himself as Ben Fielding turns up on to confront the man who‘s sleeping with his wife Fiz reels. She’s sure there’s been a mistake but when Ben instantly recognises John and punches him Fiz is horrified. How far has John gone to keep Charlotte quiet?

Sophie’s not happy when Sian agrees to have tea at Ryan’s (she feels obligated after he came to her rescue). Ciaran helps Ryan create a romantic setting but when Sophie hears she storms round and barges in. Will Sophie’s worst fears be realised?

Natasha plans a surprise 70th party for Audrey (keen to ingratiate herself in the hope Audrey will retire and sell the salon.)

Elsewhere Eileen’s fed up with her lot in life and advises Sean not to try and see Dylan. Sunita & Dev row over her desire to work.

Monday 19th July Part 2

Fiz demands to know whether John is sleeping with Charlotte. He tries to explain it’s a case of mistaken identity and begs her to have faith in him. But furious Fiz issues an ultimatum – he resigns or it’s over. Meanwhile Charlotte’s got an ultimatum of her own for John. Luke’s thrown her out and she needs money. John either pays up or she’ll expose his lie. John’s in turmoil.

As Sian’s races after a distraught Sophie she insists she’s got it wrong, she was going to let Ryan down as it’s her she loves. Sian seals it with a kiss but Ryan has followed them and his angry reaction leaves the girls wondering what he’ll do next. Will Sian be able to convince Ryan to keep quiet?

When Audrey asks Lewis to move in with her properly he’s on the spot and tries to be politely non committal.

Elsewhere Dev agrees to do a job swap with Sunita for a week, he’ll take care of the kids while she runs the business.

Thursday 22nd July

Audrey worries that she’s spooked Lewis by asking him to move in but he’s utterly thrown when she suggests they pursue his dream of opening a hotel in Greece. As she discusses selling the salon and her house Lewis is desperate to slow her down. Insisting they take things one step at a time he agrees to move in but will it be enough for Audrey?

As Fiz urges John to write his resignation he thinks they’re being hasty (he needs his salary to pay Charlotte who‘s back on the street making demands). Will John be able to get either woman off his back or will he be forced to further entangle himself in his web of deceit?

Sophie wants to tell her parents she’s gay before they hear it from someone else but Sian worries she’s not ready.

Elsewhere Eileen feels used and abused. Lloyd comforts Cheryl when she quits her job.

Friday 23rd July Part 1

It’s Audrey’s birthday and Lewis plays the charmer while at the same time trying to slow her down. But Audrey’s head over heels and even the surprise party doesn’t faze her. She’s delighted to see Maria back but when Claudia sweeps in Audrey seethes. Claudia claws are out too as she watches the happy couple and after too many drinks she fills Gail in on Lewis’ past.

Determined to take hold of her life Eileen tells Steve & Lloyd she wants to buy into Streetcars. But how will they react?

Elsewhere needing time alone to be a couple Sian & Sophie ask Ryan if they can buy his festival tickets. Still hurting will he agree? Natasha plans to buy the salon.

Friday 23rd July Part 2

When Gail tackles Lewis about Claudia’s revelation he asserts he’s left escorting behind and genuinely cares for Audrey. But for Gail it isn’t that simple and she confronts Audrey. Defiant Audrey decides to make a speech and focusing on her doubters she announces she and Lewis are moving away together to start a new life in the sun. How will Lewis react?

When Steve & Lloyd come after Eileen she plays hardball and they’re forced to agree to more responsibility and more money. Grabbing the bull by the horns she then tells Molly & Tyrone she wants to view their house and make an offer. Molly’s thrilled, still dead set on moving, but will Ty agree?

Sunita’s enjoyed her week at work and tells Dev she’s fed up of being stuck in the house and wants to make something of her life. Dev’s stunned as she suggests they get a nanny.

Elsewhere being back on the street makes Maria realise it’s where she belongs and she asks Audrey if she can come back to the salon with first refusal if she sells up.

Episode 7375 – Friday 9th July

Leanne blasts Nick for hiding the fact he was duping Carla. Apologising Nick explains he and the girls needed jobs and he did all the legwork while Carla abandoned him. Leanne agrees to speak to George and dodging Simon’s birthday party she comes through for Nick. But as Nick thanks her with a cosy champagne toast Leanne’s uncomfortable with her deception. Are there still feelings between the pair? Meanwhile Carla kicks herself for taking her eye off the ball. Determined to not let Nick win she sets about rebuilding Underworld.

When Steve & Becky see the Windasses with a baby they worry they’ve been allocated a child before them. Eddie leads them to believe they’ve been fast tracked. Becky’s gutted as Steve calls the social worker.

Deirdre’s emotional as she faces her first birthday without her mum but Lewis soon cheers her up. When he reveals his dreams of seeing out his days in the sun (like Blanche) Audrey’s swept along.

Elsewhere, when Graeme casually tells Tina he loves her and she doesn’t reciprocate he starts to panic. Michelle plays games with Ciaran.

Episode 7374 – Friday 9th July

Carla’s furious as the staff confess they’ve been working for Nick. He defends ‘his’ girls and the way he’s done business but Carla resolves to contact her solicitor. Nick calls her bluff but he’s nervous. Leanne’s also shocked by Nick’s deceit and Peter’s quick to give Carla all the help she needs with getting Turners shut down. Carla does her worst and Nick’s left shell-shocked. Can he prevent his dream from being ruined?

Ciaran’s pulled out all the stops to impress Michelle by cooking a meal at hers. She’s clearly made an effort too and the night goes well. Ciaran’s convinced his charm has worked but how will she react when he goes in for the kill?

Lloyd’s relieved when Cheryl returns safe. She reveals Chris was full of apologies but asks if she can stay with him a while longer as she needs space to think. Will Cheryl go back to her husband?

Elsewhere, Deirdre flirts with Lewis as he reveals an interest in the Bookies (Deirdre’s now working there). Mary takes over Hayley’s wedding plans.

Episode 7373 – Thursday 8th July

Carla’s puzzled by a message from Sean and when she can’t get hold of Nick she heads to the street. As Leanne explains how she helped Nick get the factory running again Carla’s grateful. But when she walks into Turners and Nick welcomes her to Nick’s Nicks Carla’s gob smacked. As she demands to know what’s going on will Nick reveal all?

Chris returns to Streetcars where he finds Cheryl and Russ. Lloyd warns him to back off but he’s contrite and Cheryl agrees to talk. As he minds Russ Lloyd feels helpless as Cheryl goes with Chris.

The sexual tension between Michelle and Ciaran is obvious and Sean’s had enough. As he orders them to go on a date Ciaran thinks Sean’s wasting his breath but will Michelle accept?
Elsewhere Natasha tries to push Nick into getting a flat with her. Michele suggests Sean chat to Violet online so he can find out more about Dylan.
