A woman and boy who died following a fatal collision in Anerley on Wednesday, 31 August have been named.
At approximately 14:05hrs a car was in collision with a number of members of the public in Lennard Road, SE20.
The car was being pursued by police at the time of the collision after being reported as stolen. The pursuit started in the vicinity of Birkbeck Road, Beckenham at approximately 14:00hrs.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London’s Air Ambulance attended.
Two members of the public – Rozanne Cooper – 34 (22.09.81) and her nephew, Makayah McDermott – 10 (09.06.06) where pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed and formal identification has taken place.
Post mortem examinations have been scheduled to take place today (Thursday, 1 September) at Princess Royal Hospital.
LAS treated three other people – all girls – for injuries. The girls, two aged 13 and one aged eight still remain in hospital, their injuries are not being treated as life threatening.
All those injured in the collision were related to each other.
The driver of the car, a 23-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle – he remains in custody at a south London police station.
At this stage of the investigation it is believed he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission was also informed and will investigate this incident independently.
