John Fairfax
Fairfax was known for rowing across both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans… just because they were there.
In 1969, after six months battling sharks, storms, and his own personal madness, Fairfax successfully rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, thus becoming the first lone oarsman to ever row across any ocean.
In 1972, Fairfax, accompanied by his girlfriend Sylvia Cook, successfully rowed across the Pacific ocean.
