Paris Hilton Scammer in Court
A fraudster who was paid 70,000 GBP for an appearance by heiress Paris Hilton had no connection to the celebrity, a court in Vienna, Austria, has been told.
Alleged conman Mario Schmidt, 43, failed to produce the star for the radio station launch and refused to hand back a penny, say prosecutors.
Other victims told how bogus agent Schmidt had demanded 130,000 GBP for another appearance but grew suspicious and abandoned the deal.
He’d told the events company he’d fixed a special cut price rate after she was caught drink driving “because I had to do something about her reputation”, the court heard.
