Concerns for missing 79-year-old man

Police are appealing for help to trace a 79-year-old man from Blyth who is believed to have been missing from his home since Friday, September 23.

John Hastings-Simpson – known as ‘Jack’ – from Cowpen, Blyth was last seen getting out of a Taxi outside Oddfellows, Bridge Street, Blyth on Friday.

He was seen pulling a blue suitcase and is described as 6ft tall of a medium build, with short grey, receding hair. He was wearing a biege sports jacket, light coloured trousers, brown shoes and a tweed cap. He’s also known to use a walking stick.

Police are concerned for Mr Hastings-Simpson’s safety and are appealing for him or anyone else who knows of his whereabouts to contact police.
