Bus Driver´s Lucky Explosion Escape
Terrified bus driver Wang Ko was blown into the air when a gas mains exploded under his coach – and then plunged 40ft into the crater left by the massive blast.
Officials in Ruian, Zhejiang province, eastern China, are investigating the blast which injured Wang, 40, and a six-year-old boy pedestrian.
“The was a huge roar and the bus flew into the air. Then while it was up there, the ground underneath it disappeared and it fell into a crater,” said one witness.
“The driver was very shocked and covered in broken glass. His cab was pointing straight up into the air like a rocket about to take off,” they added.
Safety officials are examining the cause of the blast.
