Su Pollard has landed a cameo role in ‘Benidorm’.

The 60-year-old actress is set to play herself doing a cabaret act in the ITV sitcom – which is set in the titular Spanish holiday resort – and has promised the scenes of her singing will amuse fans of the show.

She said on ‘This Morning’: “I’m going as myself and I’m singing at the Benidorm Palace doing cabaret and everything goes wrong! It’ll be really funny.”

Although pleased to be starring in the show, the ‘Hi-de-Hi!’ star is also keen to replace Matt Smith as the current Timelord in ‘Doctor Who’.

She explained: “I would love to be in ‘Doctor Who’. I would make a good Doctor.”

However, if bosses on the sci-fi series are unwilling to give her a spot on the show Su is also keen to appear in a soap.

She added: “I’d like to be in ‘Coronation Street’, which I absolutely love, and then I’d like to be in ‘EastEnders’. But I’d have to be a chirpy character as they are all near death and depressed.”
