Schoolboy rescues puppy from drowning in a sack
Hero schoolboy Dan Lin pulled this lucky puppy from a flooded canal after it had been dumped in a weighted sack by its cruel owner.
The 11-year-old schoolboy – from Fuzhou, eastern China – plunged into the water when he saw the desperate pup struggling for life as it forced its head through the sack opening.
Now Lin and his seven-year-old brother Yau have been allowed to keep the stray by their parents. “It was very cruel to try to drown him. I didn’t really think about it – I just jumped in,” he explained.
