Wednesday, 18 August 2010, 9:00PM – 10:00PM
FINAL EPISODE
Dannii Minogue: Style Queen, will give viewers behind the scenes access with TV star Dannii Minogue, as she allows cameras access in the run up to her dream business at the same time juggling all the other important elements in her life; TV, music, red-carpet events, modelling, writing her autobiography, her boyfriend Kris, travelling between London and Australia for Australia’s Got Talent – and her most important job – her impending motherhood.
In the final episode of the series, Dannii headed back to Melbourne and was busy in her judging role on Australia’s Got Talent as well as writing her autobiography with friend Terry Ronald. Having admitted that it’s been a ‘life changing’ year, Dannii now felt it was time to put pen to paper and had fun taking Terry through some of her childhood antics, she said: “It was so much fun doing the catch up bit in Australia, driving past my primary school and the house we used to live, ‘and this is where my sister got caught jumping out the front window.’”
With some of the world’s big known stores clambering to sell Project D, Dannii headed to one of Australia’s top department stores who would be stocking her first collection. But work was soon put to one side, when she is pulled off course by a ‘50% off’ sale.
Dannii said: “Tabitha and I are definitely drawn to colour but then she would put in something kooky like a gum ball machine, a pin ball machine or a jumpy castle and I don’t know if I can stop her doing that! But you know what? There is method in her madness; probably everyone will come to our section.”
With a break from filming ‘Australia’s Got Talent,’ Dannii and Kris headed back to London and flew straight into a media storm – speculation of her return to The X Factor is front-page news and everyone was desperate to know what was happening.
A shocked Dannii said: “Back in London I wasn’t expecting any of that on arrival. It’s The X Factor – they’re saying are you coming back on the show. It’s a bit of a guessing game for me at the moment; bit of an open conversation but obviously there’s so much of the show that I won’t be able to do. It’s got to be fair on the contestants because you’re not just judging, you’re mentoring, and then fair on us because we’ll be a family by then. We’ll see if we can find a way to make it work.”
Whilst back in the UK it was a busy three weeks for Dannii before she headed back to Australia to give birth to her first child. Dannii and her best friend and business partner Tabitha unveiled their perfume, which they would sell alongside their clothing range; to the UK’s top beauty editors. It was their first foray into the world of perfume and they just hope they’ve got it right.
Dannii had a photo shoot for the front cover of her autobiography – but there’s a little problem. By the time the book is on the shelves, the baby will be born – so the stylist needed to find a way to conceal the bump, which is easier said than done! Kris also popped in to say goodbye before he headed back to Melbourne and had time for a quick family photo with Dannii and the bump.
It’s the day Dannii and Tabitha had been working towards for the last six months – the worldwide launch of their clothing label, Project D. With the press invited, along one hundred lucky fans who have won tickets to get a first glimpse of the dresses. It’s the moment of truth for the collection and Tabitha was feeling sick with nerves.
Ahead of the launch Dannii admitted, “I miss Kris, wishing he was here for this. Setting up Project D has taken up so many hours and that’s what takes me away from him and we can’t spend time together because I have to get stuff done so I wish he was here…. Its so rewarding to see the clothes in store, there were times when I didn’t think we’d get here.”
Tabitha added: “I just feel like I might puke, this is Dannii’s kind of territory, this is home ground for her for me its all brand new and I have no idea what’s going to happen. My hearts beating so fast, my palms are so sweaty, I’m literally dripping sweat!”
The day has come when Dannii headed back to Australia to prepare for the birth. The next time she’ll be in London she’ll be a mum, so it’s an emotional farewell. She said; “The last six months have been an absolute whirlwind, it’s just been full on. I guess probably the busiest time of my life.
“If somebody had said to me a couple of years ago even one of these things is going to happen, being on an M&S billboard, writing an autobiography, recording new music, launching a fashion range, creating a fragrance, having a baby. Just one of them I would have thought you’re mad, it’s never going to happen. Six months working with Tabs has been absolutely brilliant; our only defence mechanism is to laugh. I’ve learnt a lot from her. I’ve got Kris there who I absolutely adore, and I don’t think any of this would have happened without him and I don’t think I would cope with the pressure without him either. I think just being really, really happy attracts good things to you. There might be wedding bells I don’t know, there’s definitely too much on this year already. I can’t get my head around the fact that I’m going to be a mum, I absolutely can’t. Its just going to be that explosive moment where you just go ‘wow this little person’s arrived.’”
