This film documents the colourful and dramatic closing act of Valentino’s celebrated career, capturing the end of an era in global fashion. At its heart, however, is a love story that charts the unique relationship between Valentino and his business partner and companion of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti.

Valentino: The Last Emperor features intimate moments in the lives of two of Italy’s richest and most famous men, who reigned supreme for almost five decades over the glamorous and fiercely competitive world of fashion.
