Coronation Street Monday 3rd May 2010 Part 2
Reeling at the news of her mother’s death, Deirdre wants answers but all Ken knows is that Blanche died that morning in her sleep.
Later, Blanche’s friend May arrives with more information – Blanche had fallen in love and was returning to Weatherfield to tell her family and friends of her happiness but died of a heart attack.
Deirdre’s stunned and needing to piece the events together for herself, she and Ken head to the airport, bound for Portugal. Later, Peter breaks the news to a devastated Simon, while Steve ponders how to tell Amy that her grandma’s dead.
Meanwhile, Norris confronts Mary, having heard her talking to herself. However, she claims that there’s a phone in her room and she was talking to a friend – unbeknown to Norris, though, it was actually her mother who is still alive!
Terrified that he’s locked up with a lunatic, Norris dials 999 and claims that he’s being held captive against his will. As he rushes outside, Mary chases after him just as the police arrive – to hear Norris accusing Mary of trying to kill him – and her mother.
At the station, Mary’s taken into an interview room for questioning, while Rita arrives to collect Norris, who hopes that he’s seen the last of Mary.
Elsewhere, Jason’s frustrated that the locks have been changed on the flat, meaning he can’t show potential buyers around; Ashley and Steve plan to buy two of Trevor’s World Cup tickets but all agree to keep it quiet from the women in their lives; and Jason confronts Graeme when he spots him emerging from the flat.
